The company had humble beginnings as a local glass shop in the mid-1980s, where two employees made sealed units by hand. 1993 saw the company acquired by Managing Director Neil Jesse and the current shareholders. The following year the company underwent a rapid expansion, leading to two relocations, first in 1995 and then in April 2009.
The company’s Headquarters are situated on the Eastways Industrial Estate, in Witham, Essex, where all Commercial production is produced.
During 2014 Village Glass acquired a further factory unit of 80.000 sq. ft. at Freebournes Road, in Witham, the company has made a major investment in the most advanced production equipment and has now transferred all Residential production to this site.
